Address: 30a Hastings Parade, North Bondi Beach
To celebrate my housemate Danielle’s birthday, a few of us girls from the Coogee student house went out for brunch. When we all moved back to Sydney after summer travels, we were excited to taste all this foodie city has to offer. We headed to North Bondi, just past the beach, for some nutritious and tasty dishes at Bondi Wholefoods.
The wholesome menu is dotted with annotations such as vegan, dairy free, gluten free, no added sugar, cooked in coconut oil, organic, and Paleo friendly. Bondi Wholefoods is both a café and a grocery store. The shop half provides organic-certified goods and healthful products. Bondi Wholefoods states that it is committed ”to provide the most nutritionally superior foods, created using the most sustainably sound practices possible, to achieve the ultimate health and well being for our customers.”
What we ordered:
Cacao Berry Pancakes With a Side of Maple Syrup – organic spelt and quinoa pancakes topped with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. A scoop of smooth raw cacao cashew cream and a scoop of berry chia jam. A drizzling of honey and sprinkling of crunchy raw cacao nibs as a finishing touch.
Banana Chia Loaf – a drizzling of honey, served with vanilla cashew cream.
Toast With Smashed Avocado & Basil Salsa, & Fresh Lime With a Side of Roast Mushrooms – on sourdough bread
Shakshuka With a Side of Avocado – mildly spicy tomato sauce with eggplant, zucchini, red peppers baked with feta, topped with two poached eggs, a sprinkling of fresh coriander. Served with sourdough bread.
Breakfast Bowl – fresh fruit, cinnamon almond granola, honey, and spiced yoghurt topped with coconut.
