Situated in North Bondi, Shuk is a bright and airy café serving up some tasty Israeli fare. From labne to halvah, Shuk offers its customers ingredients not often seen on Sydney breakfast menus. I went for Sunday brunch with my housemate Nora and her visiting sister and mum. The place was buzzing, so I ordered a chocolate rugelach while we waited for a table. The in-house bakery showcases freshly-baked challah, rye bread, pastries, and bagels in rustic crates, creating a beautiful display.
What we ate:
Chocolate Rugelach
Beghrir Pancakes – cinnamon & almond meal pancake with halvah, berry compote, crushed pistachios, yogurt, & maple syrup (tangy and sweet, loved the berries)
Lady Tradie – two poached eggs, labne, spinach, lentils, olives, radish, sourdough, tomato with a side of avocado.
Eggs on Toast
